Helping Beginners Avoid the Costly Mistakes I Made

Welcome to TryBuying.com. My name is Brian Rosemorgan, and I’m a retired forex trader from South Africa with more than eight years of live trading experience. Like many beginners, I didn’t become successful overnight. I lost money, made emotional decisions, chased unrealistic expectations and spent years learning lessons the hard way.

Those experiences taught me that successful trading isn’t about finding a magic indicator or secret strategy. It’s about developing discipline, managing risk, understanding how the market really works and never stopping your education.

I created TryBuying to provide the kind of practical, honest guidance I wish had been available when I first started trading. Every guide on this website is written specifically for beginners, using plain English and real trading experience rather than unrealistic promises or marketing hype.

My Forex Trading Journey

Like many beginners, I started trading forex believing it would be a quick way to make money. I watched YouTube videos, bought trading courses, experimented with indicators and even tried automated trading robots. I expected success to come quickly.

Instead, I experienced what many new traders go through—I made emotional decisions, overtraded, ignored risk management and lost money. More than once I emptied a trading account because I believed the next trade would recover my losses.

Over time I realised that profitable trading wasn’t about finding the perfect indicator or secret strategy. Success came from developing discipline, protecting my capital and following a consistent trading plan. Once I simplified my approach and focused on risk management, my trading became far more consistent.

After more than eight years of trading the live forex markets, I retired from active trading. Today I use that experience to help beginners avoid the expensive mistakes that many of us made when starting out.

Lessons That Changed My Trading

  • Capital preservation is more important than chasing profits.
  • No strategy wins every trade.
  • Risk management determines long-term survival.
  • Patience usually produces better trades than constant activity.
  • Demo trading is one of the best investments a beginner can make.
  • Consistency beats excitement every time.

Everything I publish on TryBuying is based on practical trading experience combined with continuous research into current forex markets, broker regulation and beginner education. My goal is not to sell unrealistic dreams but to provide straightforward guidance that helps new traders build realistic expectations and strong trading habits.

Why I Created TryBuying

After retiring from active trading, I realised that most beginner forex websites all seemed to have the same goal—getting visitors to open broker accounts as quickly as possible.

Very few explained what new traders actually needed to know before risking real money. Important topics such as risk management, trading psychology, realistic expectations and avoiding scams were often buried beneath marketing material promising easy profits.

I wanted to build something different.

TryBuying was created as a free educational resource where complete beginners could learn forex trading step by step, without unnecessary hype or unrealistic promises. Every article is written to explain not only how something works, but also why it matters.

The goal has always been simple:

  • Teach beginners how the forex market really works.
  • Help traders avoid the costly mistakes that most of us make early on.
  • Encourage responsible risk management instead of gambling.
  • Provide honest broker guidance based on regulation and education.
  • Create one of South Africa’s most trusted beginner forex learning resources.

My Mission

If one beginner avoids blowing their first trading account because of something they learned on TryBuying, then the time spent creating these guides has been worthwhile. My focus has never been on selling dreams—it has always been on helping traders build the knowledge, discipline and confidence needed to make better decisions.

Everything Is Written for Beginners

Every guide is written in plain English with practical examples, simple explanations and real trading experience. My aim is to make forex education easy to understand, even if you’ve never opened a trading platform before.

My Trading Philosophy

Over the years, I discovered that successful trading has very little to do with finding a “secret” indicator or the perfect trading strategy. Most long-term success comes from following a few simple principles consistently.

Like many beginners, I initially believed that more indicators, more trades and more screen time would lead to better results. Experience taught me the opposite. The traders who survive are usually those who keep things simple, protect their capital and remain disciplined through both winning and losing periods.

Everything I publish on TryBuying is based around the same philosophy that helped improve my own trading over the years.

The Principles I Believe In

Protect Your Capital First

You cannot become a successful trader if you continually lose your trading account. Good risk management always comes before chasing profits.

Keep Your Strategy Simple

Complex systems often create confusion. A straightforward strategy that you fully understand is usually more effective than one filled with dozens of indicators.

Discipline Beats Emotion

Successful trading is built on following your trading plan consistently, not reacting emotionally to every market movement.

Never Stop Learning

The financial markets constantly evolve. Every trade—whether it wins or loses—is an opportunity to learn and improve.

Patience Creates Better Opportunities

One of the hardest lessons in trading is learning that you don’t have to be in the market all the time. Waiting for high-quality setups often produces better results than constant trading.

A Final Thought

If there is one message I hope every visitor remembers, it is this: forex trading is a skill that takes time to develop. Focus on learning, practise on a demo account, manage your risk carefully and be patient with your progress. Consistency will always outperform shortcuts.

Let’s Continue the Journey Together

Learning forex trading doesn’t end after reading one guide. Becoming a consistently disciplined trader is a gradual process that requires patience, practice and continuous learning. That’s exactly why I continue to update TryBuying with new articles, tutorials and beginner-friendly resources.

Whether you’re just opening your first demo account or taking your first steps towards live trading, I hope the information on this website helps you avoid unnecessary mistakes and build a solid foundation for the future.

If you have a question about one of my guides, need clarification on a trading concept or simply want to say hello, I’d be delighted to hear from you.
